Cemetery Trustees

The Cemetery Trustees met at the Historical Society at 9AM.
Contract signing: The Trustees signed a contract with Steve Rouleau of Steve’s Quality Services for maintenance of the Town’s cemeteries for 2012. As part of this agreement, Steve will accompany the Trustees on their annual inspection of cemeteries this spring.
Trustees of the Trust: Blaze Konefal, member of the Trustees of the Trust, attended the meeting to clarify some trust issues. Blaze had provided the Trustees with a list of Trust accounts and Ruth noticed that two seemed to be missing. He will research and inform the Trustees.
Blaze also informed the Cemetery Trustees that the Trustees of the Trust were holding trusts in which the interest was being added back to the principal instead of reimbursing the Town for mowing. It appears the intent was that family members would mow the lot until no longer able at which time the interest on the funds would be available to reimburse the town for mowing. He wanted to know if the town was mowing these lots. The Trustees informed him that the town is mowing each of these lots.
Insurance: Nancy, Town Administrator, has confirmed that the public cemeteries are covered by town insurance for damage but this excludes the stones since they are privately owned.
Next Meeting: The February meeting of the Trustees will be rescheduled to the second Wednesday, March 5, at the Town Hall.
